Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to extend an invitation as the Guest Editor for contributions to the upcoming Special Issue, “Exploring Pathogens: Advances in Genomic and Proteomic Research”. This edition is dedicated to advancing the frontier of molecular biology and molecular medicine through the notion of genomic and proteomic research on pathogens. This Special Issue seeks to assemble a collection of papers centered around the theme of genomic and proteomic analysis of pathogens, encompassing a wide range of topics from basic molecular studies to translational research with potential clinical applications.

We are quest for original research articles, reviews, and short communications that showcase the latest breakthroughs and innovations in the field. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Genomic and proteomic profiling of bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic pathogens.
  • Molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis and host-pathogen interactions, particularly in mammals, plants, teleosts, and birds.
  • Applications of genomics and proteomics in developing diagnostics, therapeutics, medicine and vaccines.
  • Comparative analyses of genomic and proteomic data from pathogenic and non-pathogenic strains.
  • Integration of omics data for systems biology approaches to elucidate infectious diseases. Systems biology approaches to infectious diseases, integrating various omics data.

Molecular Focus: Submissions should highlight or emphasize on the genomic and proteomics molecular aspects of research, highlighting its significance in advancing our understanding of pathogen biology and in the creation of innovative strategies to combat infectious diseases.

We anticipate your valuable contributions and look forward to presenting cutting-edge research in the dynamic fields of genomics and proteomics.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Molecular Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. There is an Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal. For details about the APC please see here. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
